Why I’m Running

For far too long, America has benefited those who are privileged. Only a very select few have money, hold power, and they dictate what our government does.

Well, I say, no longer.

We, the people, should have our voices heard, our concerns addressed, and our lives made better by our government. Abraham Lincoln, honoring those who shed blood in Gettysburg, said that government should be of the people, by the people, and for the people. And so this Congress should be the people’s Congress, our Congress. I am running to help make it so.

I am the CEO of Green Retirement, a California benefit corporation focused on fossil-free and socially and environmentally responsible 401K’s. I hold both Civil Engineering and Masters in Business Management degrees.

JESSICA MORSE

PRAGMATIC * EFFECTIVE * COMMITTED

Jessica Morse is a fifth generation northern Californian with deep roots in our district. After graduating from college in the wake of 9/11 she answered the call to serve. She first deployed to Iraq as a civilian working alongside our troops and spent the next decade serving in national security roles fighting corruption human trafficking and terrorism.

Following the devastating Camp Fire in Paradise, Jessica dedicated herself to finding solutions to prevent such catastrophic wildfires. She became Deputy Secretary at the California Natural Resources Agency, spearheading wildfire prevention initiatives. There she worked hand in glove with Cal Fire,  loggers, and environmental leaders to design and implement a national model for wildfire prevention programs that protect our families, homes, communities, and public lands. Jessica cut through red tape to get these projects on the ground quickly, yielding significant reductions in mega fires.

JESSICA IS A PROBLEM SOLVER

When she sees a problem she runs toward it and works to fix it. She understands that we cannot let partisan politics stand in the way of finding real solutions to the challenges we face. From addressing our wildfire crisis, to providing humanitarian aid overseas, Jessica has spent her career building bipartisan coalitions of unlikely partners to get things done.

IN CONGRESS, JESSICA WILL WORK TO:

• Implement cutting edge wildfire prevention strategies to protect our homes and environment
• Champion and safeguard are reproductive rights
• Strengthen and preserve Social Security and Medicare ensuring dignity for our seniors
• Invest in quality education for every child
• Expand access to affordable childcare for all working parents
• Build affordable housing for our working families young professionals and seniors
• Conserve and protect our water supply
